Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent experience
About the Role:
Own recovery of the SAP landscape and the OpenText EDMS platform at the DR site for a large enterprise customer in Qatar. The role covers SAP HANA System Replication, FlexFrame, SUSE Linux, the SAP application tier and EDMS recovery, and you will run the workstream independently on the customer site from design to handover.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess the SAP and EDMS landscape; design the DR approach, takeover and failback procedures, and define RPO and RTO targets.
- Configure and validate SAP HANA System Replication, FlexFrame and SUSE at the DR site.
- Build and configure the SAP application tier at DR: profiles, SAProuter, logon groups, certificates, SSO, interfaces and batch jobs.
- Configure OpenText Archive Center redundancy, SQL replica and EFS replication; run database versus file store consistency audits.
- Run SAP and EDMS takeover and failback tests, including night or weekend cutovers, with business validation and evidence capture.
- Specify network, F5 and storage requirements for SAP to infrastructure and security colleagues and verify delivery.
- Provide technical inputs for runbooks and deliver knowledge transfer to the customer Basis and EDMS teams.
Essential Skills and Experience:
- Expert SAP HANA 2.0 administration: HSR setup, takeover, replication modes, backup and recovery.
- Expert SAP Basis (NetWeaver, S/4HANA or ECC): kernel, profiles, transports, SAProuter, certificates and job management.
- Advanced FlexFrame for SAP and SUSE Linux Enterprise Server for SAP.
- Advanced OpenText Archive Center and content server: EFS layout, HA, indexing and ArchiveLink integration.
- Advanced SQL Server HA: Always On or log shipping, backup, restore and consistency checks.
- Understanding of NetApp storage interaction with HANA, and SAP network port requirements.
- DR test management at the application layer: runbooks, smoke tests, go or no go decisions.
- Comfortable working independently on a client site and explaining technical status to business stakeholders.
- GCC delivery experience.
- Bash, PowerShell or Python scripting; SAP Solution Manager awareness.
Certifications:
- Essential (at least one): SAP Certified Technology Professional, SAP HANA 2.0 Administration, or SAP Certified Technology Consultant, System Administration with HANA.
- Desirable: SUSE Certified Administrator; OpenText Archive Center certification; Microsoft SQL Server certification; ITIL 4 Foundation.
